Deyvon M. Newman, of Manassas, first struck the woman, whom he knew, sometime Sunday evening, July 9, in Aldie, the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office said.

When the woman attempted to flee their parked vehicle, Newman forced her back inside and drove off, police said. The vehicle crashed a short time later and the female and a child were able to flee and contact a passerby.

Newman took off on foot, and the LCSO with the assistance of the Fairfax Police Department helicopter (FFX1) searched the area, and the female and the child were transported to a local area hospital for treatment.

Newman remained at large as of Monday, July 10, and is wanted for assault, abduction, and child endangerment, authorities said.

Anyone who sees him is urged to contact the LCSO at 703-777-1021.
